Pursuit Ends in Zanesville Crash

The Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol said a 27-year-old Columbus man is being held in the Muskingum County Jail facing multiple felony charges.
Sergeant Jeff Jirles said after 1pm Saturday they received multiple calls of a reckless vehicle on Interstate 70. Troopers located the vehicle near Norwich and attempted to stop it, but the driver accelerated to dangerous speeds and troopers terminated the pursuit.
The suspect exited I-70 at New Concord and fled towards Cambridge on US 22. Troopers deployed stop sticks east of New Concord, however the suspect entered I-70 West at State Route 723.
The pursuit was terminated again by unsafe speeds and holiday traffic. The patrol said the suspect crashed his vehicle on I-70 in Zanesville and fled on foot. He was apprehended near 6th Street in Zanesville.
