Random Acts of Kindness for Zane State Students

ZANESVILLE, OH – Some Zane State College students experienced a random act of kindness today from some special visitors.
Residents of Primrose Retirement Community made a stop at Zane State’s Advanced Science and Technology Center today, bringing with them goodie-bags and kind words for the students.
Cassie Riffee, the Marketing & Admissions Director with Primrose, says they’ve now done this for 3 years with the hope that the students will pay this kindness forward.
“They absolutely love coming and giving back to the college kids.” Riffee said. “You know, this is, the way that they look at this, this is like the younger generation coming up, and we’re able to be here to give them a little bit of love and support during this part of their journey, so they are the future and we’re here to support them.”
Alona Laine, the Community Care Coordinator with Genesis Home Care, says they partner with Primrose to provide therapy services to the residents and have been a part of this random acts of kindness day ever since.
She says the residents got together to pack the bags with pens, notebooks, cookies, and for some an Amazon Gift card.
“I hope [the students] see how much excitement these residents get, when they come here to do this.” Laine said. “Like Cassie said, just, pay it forward and be kind.”
The Official Random Acts of Kindness Day is Tuesday, February 17th, if you’re feeling inspired to perform an act of kindness yourself.
