Raymond Dodson, age 78, of Zanesville, died, Thursday, May 20, 2021, at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.

He was born Saturday, January 23, 1943, in Sonora, OH, the son of the late Roy Dodson and Ruth (Leddy) Dodson.

He was a member of Meadow Farm United Methodist Church and served his country in the US Army.  Raymond was a graduate of Maysville High School, worked as a machine operator for Rockwell International, and served as local UAW President. In his retirement he remained active operating a wood mill, renovating rental homes, and loved his winter fishing trips with his friends in Islamorada.

Raymond is survived by two sons: Ryan (Lindsay) Dodson and Cy (Kelly) Dodson; four brothers: Bob (Molly Tharp), Jim, Norris and Roy (Barb Cafferatly); three sisters: Kathy (Jeff) Moore, Ruth Ann Brock, and Dianna Dodson.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his two sons, Loraine (Joseph) Dodson; his second wife, Stephanie (King) Dodson; two brothers: Steve and Richard Dodson, and one sister: Barbara Jean Bowman.
