Raymond Eugene “Ray” Durant, 77, of Zanesville passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2026 in his home while in the comforting presence of his family. He was born on March 10, 1949 in Zanesville to Floyd & Freda (Mautz) Durant. Ray worked with the Section 8 Housing Authority as an Inspector, and could often be found redoing his home using his skills in dry wall and carpentry to mold it into more than just a house. Ray took time and painstakingly designed his property over a period of years; converting it from a wild and overgrown area into a sculpted and manicured lawn. Ray loved to golf, work on his yard, ride his motorcycle, and spending time with his friends. Ray proudly served his country as a United States Marine.

He is survived by his loving and devoted partner, Indea Miller, his sister, Barb Durant, his niece, Tracy (Shane) Krumbine, his nephew, Keith (Alane) Krumbine, two great nieces, Anya & Keira, two step-sons, Will and Steve Miller, his dog, Biscuit, lots of friends, and many cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Durant.

A cremation will take place under the direction of BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, AT OUR LOCALLY OWNED AND OPERATED CREMATORY.
