Red Cross Provides Update on Flood Recovery

ROSEVILLE, OH – The American Red Cross is giving an update on recovery efforts following the flooding in Roseville and Crooksville earlier this month.

The Red Cross says the shelter at the Perry County fairgrounds remains open for anyone who needs a safe place to stay. The Multi-Agency Resource Center is also available, where several organizations are helping connect flood victims with resources they may need.

“We’re still sheltering in Perry County at the fairgrounds in New Lexington. We’ve been averaging 40 people a night, still. It’s been almost three weeks now. We have what we call a MARC, which is a Multi-Agency Resource Center in Roseville. That’s where all of the different agencies in the county are there to help people recover, there’s different resources and things like that. So, if anybody’s looking for additional help, I suggest they go to the William Barker Center, the Community Center in Roseville.” Executive Director, East Central Red Cross, Tim Callahan said.

The Red Cross says help is available for those impacted by the flooding. Anyone who needs assistance or isn’t sure where to turn can call the Red Cross to get connected with resources.

“If you haven’t heard from us and your house was affected, please call 1800-RED-CROSS and that will get you into the system, so we know to call you back, and we know where your property is.” Callahan said.  “We don’t know exactly what was affected when the water goes down because we can’t go out when the water is up. So, if you haven’t heard from us or anything please call 1800-RED-CROSS.”

The Red Cross would also like to thank the Girl Scouts for their partnership and for providing space for the Red Cross office inside the Girl Scouts building in Zanesville.
