Rendville Emancipation Day Celebration

Emancipation Day returns this weekend to the historic town of Rendville in southern Perry County.

The Rendville Emancipation Day will be taking place Saturday from noon until 5:00 p.m.

The celebration will include live music, living history, speakers, kids activities and a walking tour of memorable buildings and sites for Rendville. You are also asked to bring a cover dish and any historic photos to share.

Dr. Anita Jackson, a member of the Rendville Historic Preservation Society, said "Rendville has been known for its ethnic diversity where the people lived, worked ,relaxed together and got along with one another."

Rendville is located in the Wayne National Forest on State Route 13 in southern Perry County.
