ZANESVILLE, OH – The renovations to the front of Christ’s Table have finally been completed.

Construction got underway during the summer and was finished up just in time for the weather to change.

Keely Warden, the Executive Director, said she’s sorry to their neighbors around the Table for blocking the sidewalk during the construction but the work was well worth it.

“It’s just beautiful and it was such a long time coming.” Warden said. “It was one of those things that we visioned and saw but we’re always really conscious of what we do with our donors’ money. So if it’s meant to be for food, we do it for food, so we had a really nice gift from a family a few years ago that was unrestricted and they said we could use to fund the front of the building, so it was a good way to get started to get our mind headed in the right direction.”

Warden said a few more unrestricted donations came in as well as having an awesome Contractor and Architect is what made all of the renovations possible.

She said they have always heard that the Table is a beacon of hope in the Zanesville community and now they truly are with additional lighting fixtures out front.

“We wanted to be that bright light and not only in the day time but we wanted to be that bright light at evening, so there’s beautiful ambience out there underneath our awning at night.” Warden said. “When you drive past it, it just glows and we hope that everyone who drives past gets the same glow in their hearts as we get when we come here everyday.”

Warden said as the dust settles on this project they are eagerly planning the next.

She said the Table recently received a grant from the Health Department to add a mural to the outside of the building.
