Spreading Christmas Cheer with Santa Mailboxes

Residents can find large red and Christmas decorated mailboxes in front of different buildings throughout Muskingum County.
The mailboxes come from a partnership between the Muskingum County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, WHIZ Media Group and the Muskingum County Library System.
This is part of a letters to Santa campaign connected to a Storybook Christmas.
“We are encouraging kids to write letters to Santa and drop them off at a location. You will see this big red mailbox here at the Welcome Center but we will also have boxes located at Timber Run Garden, all of the Muskingum Library branches, Tom’s Ice Cream Bowl, Mudgett Monument, and Lepi and Associates on Maple Avenue,” said Ashley Cook from the Zanesville Muskingum County Visitors Burea.
The mailboxes are a fun way to spread some needed Christmas joy in Muskingum County.
“I think this year everybody needed a little extra Christmas magic so I think writing a letter to Santa that is always something fun for kids to do in the community. You know, how exciting is it to go drop off your letter in a red mailbox to Santa,” said Cook.
The mailboxes will be out until Christmas Eve.
