Residents Wait To Find Out True Value Of Memorabilia
Local residents now know the true value of their household items thanks to the Treasure Hunter’s Roadshow.
More than 700 people filled the Muskingum County-Zanesville Welcome Center Tuesday through Saturday to find out if the true worth of their memorabilia items. Susan Porthe brought a painting she bought for $5 at a yard sale. While many are here to sell items she says that selling the painting is not what she wants to do.
"I’m looking to see if the artist is legit and what the value may be," says Porthe.
Susan says if the value is more than the $5 she paid for it., then she has made a profit. Margaret and Eugene Jones waited for about an hour to show their 100 year old accordion and a children’s toy. They say they came across the items after cleaning out a family member’s house and they have no idea how much the items are worth.
"The sky is the limit, but it is a fun day, so we will see," says Margaret Jones.
The next Treasure Hunter’s Roadshow will be Tuesday through Saturday at the Comfort Inn in Marietta.
