Restore Raffles Leslie Cope Original
The Habitat for Humanity ‘Restore’ is raffling off a valuable donation.
A Leslie Cope painting made its way to Restore after a collector decided to donate. Cope is well known for his work in the local area but this piece illustrates a canal bridge in Stoke-in-Kent, England where Cope was born.
Restore Manager Terry Schultz said the large oil and pastel work is worth over $2,000.
"Whenever I get artwork in that I think might have a little bit more value I tend to do a little bit more research on it," said Schultz.
Restore is selling just 300 raffle tickets for the painting at just 10 dollars a ticket or six tickets for $50.00.
All the money will benefit Habitat for Humanity in Southeast Ohio which is working on several projects in the area, including a repair project in Muskingum County this summer and a new home build in Crooksville this spring.
"We transform communities," said Schultz. "We transform neighborhoods. We transform whole towns through building a house."
You can purchase tickets at Restore, open Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
