Rex Aleshire

Rex Allen Aleshire, 80, of Cambridge, passed away Sunday (November 17, 2024) at his home.
He was born May 14, 1944 in Cambridge, son of the late George Aleshire Sr. and Pauline (King) Aleshire.
Rex was a 1962 graduate of Byesville High School and attended Muskingum College for mechanical engineering. He then went on to work for NCR in Cambridge and later in Georgia, retiring in 2006. Rex was part of NCR’s first team that patented scanners and bar codes in the retail industry.
He was a life member of the Elks.
Rex enjoyed living in the Atlanta area. He loved his family vacations to Myrtle Beach and camping at Seneca Lake with his grandchildren. He was an avid golfer in several local leagues over the years and enjoyed his many golf trips to Myrtle Beach and Santee SC. In his spare time, he liked to work on carpentry projects.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Aleshire and George Aleshire.
Rex is survived by his son, Chris (& Shelley) Aleshire of Senecaville; his daughter, Marni Aleshire (& Jason Crupper) of Cambridge; four grandchildren, Brittany (& Chris) Miller of New Albany, Brooke (& Justin) McCartney of Hopewell, Jorden Coon of Colorado, and Riley Crupper of Westerville; a great-grandchild, Boone McCartney; his former spouse, Terri Lupton of Cambridge; several nieces & nephews; his golfing buddies; many friends; and his best friend & companion – his dog, Milo.
No calling hours will be observed. No funeral services will be held at this time. Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, is handling arrangements.
