RHDD Prom is Paradise
Some area developmentally disabled adults were able to realize their dream of going to prom.
The Residential Home for the Developmentally Disabled held its first annual prom for residents Wednesday night at the Coburn United Methodist Church in Zanesville.
"Everybody is just excited about, it’s all they’ve been talking about for weeks and today they did hair and nails and they went shopping for dresses and the limo brought them all here," says Dorthy Thomas, Event Committee Chairman.
Residents had been looking forward to the "Welcome to Paradise" themed prom for months.
"I remember my prom and how magical and fun that it was and to remember those memories and see the same looks on the faces tonight is really, it’s inspirational," says Lisa Bash, Executive Director RHDD.
This is the first event RHDD has held since forming an Events Committee and Bash says they are looking forward to hosting more events in the future.
