Rhea Van Heest Arnold (April 1, 1927 – December 6, 2015)

Rhea Van Heest Arnold 88 of Zanesville, passed away on Sunday December 6, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Rhea was born in Oxford, England to the late Rev. John and Lucille Bishop Van Heest. She graduated from Hope College in Holland, MI in 1947 and then earned two Master’s Degrees; one from Michigan State in Guidance and Counseling and one from Ohio University in Elementary Education. She taught Kindergarten in New York, Michigan, Zanesville, and at Ohio University Zanesville. Rhea was gifted both musically and artistically; she assisted her husband in the church with many activities especially, playing the organ. She was a member of the Dresden Madison Presbyterian Church.
Rhea is survived by her children; John Arnold of Zanesville, Mark Thomas Arnold of Tulsa, Ok, Rev. Phillip Arnold of Alexander, Iowa, Deborah (Franco) Iulianelli of Pataskala, Martha (Brad) Wonders of Des Moines, Iowa and Mary (Paul) Cornish of Grand Rapids, MI. Two Brothers, four sisters, eleven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband; Dr. John James Arnold who passed away December 11, 2008.
Calling will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Friday December 11, 2015 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 West Military Road Zanesville, Ohio. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM in The Snouffer Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Herbert Hicks officiating.
