Richard “Flappy” Roll

Richard “Flappy” Roll, 58, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on August 26, 2026, at Willow Haven Nursing Home in Zanesville.
He was born September 25, 1967, in Zanesville, Ohio, son of the late Richard Lee Roll and Rosemary Sagle. Flappy was a member of Westwood Baptist Church in Zanesville, where he was proud to be baptized. He loved working with his hands, as a laborer, doing carpentry and odd jobs. He enjoyed helping anyone and everyone when he could. In his free time, he loved going to Julie’s Artery in Zanesville, where he made pottery for his friends and family. Above all, he loved riding recklessly on his Harley, often doing wheelies down Main.
Flappy is survived by his daughter, Alexis Roll; grandson, Mayson Whitney; brothers, Travis Sagle and Daniel Timmerman; sisters, Shayleigh Riggs and Sheila Reger; good friends, Mark and Julie Goodall.
He will always be remembered and loved by everyone who knew him. Donations in his name can be made to the Rick Roll Artist Scholarship Fund at Julie’s Artery in Zanesville.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday September 6, 2026, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Westwood Baptist Church at 2395 East Pike in Zanesville, Ohio.
