Richard “Rick” Lambert

Richard L. “Rick” Lambert, 55, of Byesville, passed away Friday (October 4, 2024) at the Morrison House, Zanesville.
He was born September 17, 1969 in Wadsworth, son of the late Merritt W. Lambert and Corella Ruth (Pudder) Lambert.
Rick graduated from Wadsworth High School and went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree from The University of Akron as well as his Master’s degree from Ohio University. Rick taught for twenty-eight years with the Cambridge City School District, retiring in 2021. Early in his career, he was a special education teacher. He later switched his teaching specialty to computer/technology. Rick dearly loved teaching.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He served on the Board of Directors for Deerassic Park. He enjoyed watching auto racing, especially NASCAR. Above all else, Rick loved spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl & Hazel Pudder and Mabel Scott; his siblings, Wayne, Dena, Greg, and Karen Lambert; and a grandson, Alten Bates.
Rick is survived by his wife, Jennifer L. Bates, whom he married on August 8, 2020; a step-daughter, Jordan Bates of Byesville; a sister, Jody (& Carl) Hafner of Toledo; his grandchildren, Evan Bates Grimm and Tommi Bates Grimm; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday (October 9, 2024) from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where a memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. with Pastor John Keith officiating.
