Rick L. Hayes (July 16, 1965 – February 24, 2012)

Rick L. Hayes, 46 of Wayne Ridge Road, Zanesville, passed away at his residence on February 24, 2012.

Rick was born in Zanesville on July 16th 1965 the son of Patricia E. (Paul) Hayes of Zanesville and the late Charles I. Hayes. Rick was owner of the Hilltop Florist in Zanesville where he worked for numerous years and he made many friends. He was a member of the Muskingum County Antique Tractor Club; he was an avid tractor puller and enjoyed spending time working on his farm.

Rick is survived by his mother Patricia Hayes of Zanesville; his two children Kaylee Hayes and Cody Hayes both of New Concord; his brothers William (Candice) Hayes of PA and Timothy (Pam) Hayes of Westerville and his sisters Patti (Keith) Girton of Newcomerstown, Barbara (Michael) Sims of Zanesville, Melanie (Michael) Smith of Zanesville and Holli (Dennis) Baughman of Zanesville and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Rick is preceded in death by his father who passed away October 7, 2004.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, March 1st at 6 pm at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 144 N. 5th St., Zanesville with a Dominican Father as celebrant.
