Rita Goss

Rita Jean Goss, 80, of Zanesville died at 12:15 AM, Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at her home while under the care of hospice and her family.
She was born June 25, 1944, in Lancaster, Ohio and was a member of The Church of Christ in Lancaster, Ohio. She graduated from Berne Union High School and was a 1965 graduate of Riverside White Cross School of Nursing. She worked most of her nursing career as a Nurse Educator at Cambridge State Hospital. She dedicated the rest of her life caring for others.
Rita is survived by her husband of 58 years, William “Bill” MacArthur Goss; her children, Nancy J. Goss and W. Brian (Pamela) Goss; grandchildren, Blake (Kallie Krouskoupf) Norris, Bryce (Kelsey) Goss, Dana Norris, Peyton Goss, Landon Goss, Camryn Goss & Greyson Goss; two Great grandsons, Baker Goss & Beau Norris; and a stepsister, Patty McDowell, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Lawrence and Mary Brown Hansley; and three stepsisters, Elizabeth “Libby” (Otto) Shaw, Martha (Clifford) Crawford, and Betty (Harold) Crawford, two step-brothers, Lawrence (Jean) Hansley, Jr. and James Hansley, as well as a great-granddaughter, Remi Norris. A nephew, Timothy Hansley, gave his life in Vietnam.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the Rockbridge United Methodist Church, 10567 Jackson St, Rockbridge, OH 43149 with Pastor John Williams officiating.
