Rivalry Renewed: Sheridan Out for Revenge, Big School Title, and Glory over Tri-Valley
THORNVILLE, OH
For Sheridan, it wasn’t the greatest of starts, dropping two of three to start the 2024 season.
But since then, Sheridan has rattled off five straight wins, most recently against Morgan in week eight. This game just hits a little different with the title on the line.
Coming in as underdogs on the road, the young Generals are ready to add to the history of the long-standing rivalry between the Generals and the Scotties.
“Cliché-wise, the next one’s always the most important. But come on, it’s Sheridan-Tri-Valley” said Sheridan head coach Paul Culver III.
“How many times in the last 20 years has it decided the league championship? Even though it’s week nine, and we’ve got another game with New Lex, which is an MVL team, it’s technically for the big school championship.”
Culver continued, “We’re 4-0, they’re 3-0, so they still have a game after this. But if we win, then we would be big school champions. So this is what we circled, right?”
“This is what we’ve been circling our schedule for since the beginning” said senior running back Luke Link.
“We’ve been working hard. They beat us last year, and the year before that, we beat them in a really close game, and we always think of Tri-Valley as our head opponent.”
Senior wide receiver Evan Anderson added, “We’re pretty confident. We watched film on them, and the more we watch, the more we think we can beat them. We’re pretty confident going into this week.”
