Robbery: Licking County Duke and Duchess

The Licking County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a robbery early Sunday morning.

Sergeant Jay Cook says the Duke and Duchess located at 10202 Hazelton Etna Road, in Licking County, was robbed at approximately 5 a.m. on Sunday, November 30th.

Sgt. Cook says the suspect did not brandish any weapon, but the clerk stated he implied he had a weapon by keeping his hand in his pocket. The suspect then preceded to walk behind the counter where he told the clerk to open the cash registers. After opening the registers, the suspect made the clerk walk into a back room where he tied her hands behind her back and told her to stay there. After approximately ten minutes the clerk was able to free herself and call 911.

The suspect is reportedly an older, 45-60 year-old, light skinned black male, approximately six feet tall,bald, and was wearing glasses, a yellow sweater and dark colored pants. It was also reported that the suspect left the scene in a dark color sedan traveling north towards Inter-State 70.
