Robert Bruce

Robert D. Bruce, 73 of Zanesville, passed away on Sunday January 19, 2025, at Ohio State Wexner Center, surrounded by his family.
He was born on April 20, 1951, in Zanesville, Ohio, son of the late Walter Pearl Bruce and Wilma (Crozier) Bruce. Robert worked for Ballas Egg for over 42 years. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye and Cleveland Browns fan. He enjoyed watching WWE Wrestling and spending his time with his loved ones.
Robert’s last wishes were for THE Ohio State Buckeyes to win a National Championship.
Robert is survived by his 3 children: Michael (Brenda) Bruce, Steven Bruce, Anna (Joey Butcher) Puryear; brother, Randy Bruce; sisters, Carol Edwards, Theresa Bruce, Debbie Moorehead, Susie Bagley; grandchildren, Allison Bruce, Zach (Ashley) Bruce, Tiffany (Jacob) Mayle, Seth (Marlene) Carroll, Mannaquinn (Sharezz Roundtree) Bradshaw, Brittanie (Dakota) Gibbons, Brandon (Ashley) Bruce, Robert (Kimmy) Bruce, Elizabeth Bruce; great-grandchildren, Araya Mitchell, Mirrah Mitchell, Kaiah Mitchell, Zayden Bruce, Matthew Bruce, Noah Bruce, Jayce Mayle, RyLee Mayle, Asher Mayle, Weston Carroll, Paislynn Carroll, Raelynn Carroll, Makenna Gibbons, Makenlee Gibbons, David Gibbons, Karlee Bruce, Aeva Bruce, Brailee Bruce, Jr Bruce, Jasper Bruce, Kharson Roundtree, Khyren Roundtree, Kharter Roundtree; Khayla Roundtree on the way; step grandchildren, Brittney Dick, Braelynn Dick, MJ Dick; nieces and nephews, Kim Gill, Clint (Heidi) Gill, Heather Edwards, Ashley (Chris) Reavley; several great nieces and great nephews; brother in law, Tim Gill; special cat, Sox.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Billy Jo Bruce; sisters, Linda Jean Gill, Sandy Vandermark; maternal grandparents, Ray and Ida Crozier; paternal grandparents, Walter C. and Florence Bruce; niece, Stephanie Schneider; great niece, Shayla Schneider; special dog, Spike.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Chad and Julian Jackson, player with the Ohio State Buckeyes, for the 2025 National Championship program that was gifted to Robert.
Per Robert’s wishes, a Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday January 29, 2025, between 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home.
