Robert Gibson

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert L. Gibson Sr., age 76, on April 8, 2026.
A proud veteran of the Vietnam War, he was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery and service to his country. He dedicated many years of hard work to McGraw Edison, where he later retired, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and perseverance.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was a true reflection of love, strength, and selflessness.
Robert was known for his ornery spirit, bringing laughter and light to those around him. Beneath that playful stubbornness was a man with a heart of gold—someone who would do anything for anyone and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family defined who he was.
He found joy in life’s simple moments—summer days spent with family, motorcycle rides, and time shared creating memories that will last forever. He had a special way of making everyone feel important, always showing up with love and support. Even in his final days, his love for his family never wavered.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard H. Gibson; his mother, Mildred D (Clark) Gibson; his wife of 33 years, Betty (Davis) Gibson; and brother-in-law, Mike Davis.
He is survived by his loving partner of 20+ years, Kathy Sealover; his children, Pinky (Tammai) Gibson, Todd A. Gibson, and stepdaughter Lisa (Brian) Ormond; his grandchildren, Madilynn (Noah M. Gipson) Gibson, and Pierce Armond; great grandchildren; Lainey R. Gipson; siblings, Terry Gibson and Richard Gibson; sister-in-laws, Shelby Hayes, Roxanne (Bob) Wagner, Tonya (Jimmy) Stotts, Marilyn Davis; along with many extended family members and friends.
While his family’s hearts are broken, they find peace in knowing he is now resting safely in the Lord’s hands. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength that will continue to live on through his family and all the lives he touched. He will be forever loved and never forgotten.
