Robert Leidner

Robert S. “Bob” Leidner, 82, of Cambridge and formerly of Lore City, passed away Monday (May 20, 2024) at Astoria Place of Cambridge.

He was born February 6, 1942 in Canton, son of the late John Joseph Leidner and Harriette Gwenllian (Wright) Leidner.

A graduate of Canton High School, Bob retired from East Ohio Gas after 33 ½ years of service.

He was a member of the Stop 9 Church of Christ.

Bob was a Master Mason Scottish Rite 32nd degree, a member of the Millennium Street Rodders, and a former mayor and councilman of Lore City. He enjoyed traveling and old cars.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Michele; two brothers, John R. “Dick” Leidner and Oliver Leidner; and a sister, Nancy Reinhart.

Bob is survived by his wife, Sharon K. (Tietze) Leidner, whom he married August 19, 1961; a son, Clifford “Scott” (Tammie) Leidner of Texas; two daughters, Jennifer (Ed) Alley of Washington WV and Tamara Harmon (and fiancé, Rob Dodd) of Cambridge; seven grandchildren, Joseph, Rachel, Corey, Austin, Jason, Christian, and Isaac; a great-grandson, Kamden; and several nieces & nephews.

Cremation will take place with a celebration of life service to be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville.
