Robert “Bob” Raymond Lucas, 77, of Pleasant City, passed away Sunday (February 2, 2025) at Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell.

He was born November 15, 1947 in Cambridge, son of the late Lewis Lucas and Helen (Gregg) Lucas.

A 1966 graduate of Meadowbrook High School, Bob was the all-time leading scorer in basketball at the time of his graduation – a record he held for over fifty years. He was an avid Colts athletics supporter, especially with basketball, softball, and baseball. He was a long-time OHSAA official.

Bob retired after thirty-five years with AEP. Before joining AEP, he had worked at Sims Royal Blue Market for several years.

He was a member of the Harmony Lutheran Church. Bob was a member of the Point Pleasant Masonic Lodge # 360.

He enjoyed being outdoors and took great pride in keeping his yard in pristine condition.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon (Sims) Lucas, who passed away November 4, 2015. They were married March 9, 1967. Also deceased is a great-grandson, Hudson James; a nephew, Scott Hill; and a sister, Judy Hill.

Bob is survived by his son, Todd (& Heather) Lucas of Jamestown; his daughter, Krista (& Wayne) Shriver of Pleasant City; his twin brother, Bill (& Kay) Lucas of Florida; five grandchildren, Ethan (& Maria) Shriver, Heath (& Taylor) Shriver, Lane Lucas, Grace Lucas, and Ben Lucas; and four great-grandchildren, Haidyn, Harlow, Holland, and Noah.

Visitation will be held Thursday (February 6, 2025) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Friday (February 7, 2025) at 11 a.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, with Evan. Mark Beros officiating.

Burial will follow at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge.

As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Bob’s name to the Harmony Lutheran Church, 12002 Kenyon Avenue, Buffalo OH 43722.
