Robert Sowers

Robert E. Sowers Jr., 60 of Zanesville Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on October 6, 2026, in his home. Robert was born on November 15, 1965, at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. The son of Rita Diane (Tabler) Sowers and Robert E. Sowers Sr.

Robert was a family man who enjoyed keeping to himself. As a stay-at-home dad, he dedicated his time to being there for his family. He was a man you can turn to for advice. He took pride in looking good and smelling good. He loved his jewelry and cologne and enjoyed collecting hats and shoes. He has a special place in his heart for his granddaughter, who brought him love and happiness.

Robert leaves behind his three children, Latosha Scott, Shanaz Sowers and Robert Sowers; granddaughter, Zandalee Casanova; siblings, Latonya Sowers, Shawn Sowers, Shannon Sowers, Dakeyla Sowers, Naquita Sowers and Lakeysha Sowers; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr. and Diane (Tabler) Sowers; stepmother, Lauretta (Mayle) Sowers; three brothers, Anthony “Ray” Sowers, David “Pookie” Mayle and Christopher Mayle; and lifelong companion, Valerie Caplinger.

He will be remembered by his family and loved ones. Though he is no longer with them, the memories they shared will remain, and he will never be forgotten.

Cremation has been chosen. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
