Robert Wortman

Robert H. Wortman, 80 of Nashport, passed away suddenly on April 9, 2025, surrounded by his family at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.
He was born on February 5, 1945, in Zanesville, son of the late Howard Wortman and Mary Hamilton. Bob retired from Greif Brothers after 42 years and was in the Army Reserves. He enjoyed meeting people and going to tractor pulls, was an OSU football and basketball fan, and was a fan of the Tri Valley Scotties. He enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds in his free time.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Teresa (Fisher) Wortman; son, Douglas Wortman; daughter, Beth (Bill Jr.) Thompson; sister, Ruth (Don) Cross; sister and brother in laws, Anne (Jim) Kuhlman, Mike (Lottie) Fisher, Chris (Ron) Foraker, Lori Fisher, Jennifer (John) Wilcox, Holly (Bob) Herron, Tim (Betty) Fisher, Carol (Barry) Weisend, Jacque King, Jay (Chris) Fisher; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and many wonderful friends and neighbors.
In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Wilma and Bernard Fisher; brothers-in-law, Tom, Steven, and Joe Fisher; niece, Lisa Fisher.
The family would like to thank the Doctors, nurses, and chaplain at the Genesis ER and CCU Units.
Family and friends may call on Monday April 14, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1:00 PM with Chaplain Bill Blair officiating. Burial will conclude services at Saint Mary Mattingly Cemetery in Nashport, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any charity of your choice in his name.
