Robin “Gary” White, Sr., 77, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Thursday morning, December 2, 2021 at Middleton of Granville, Ohio.

Born July 31, 1944 in Wilkesville, Ohio, he was a son of the late Robin “Bob” and Bethel (Libby) White and was a 1962 graduate of Wilton High School, where he excelled in basketball and baseball.  Gary retired in 2002 from Owens-Corning in Newark where he was a senior chemical operator for 38 years.  He also owned and operated White’s Custom Hauling for many years, enjoying every minute he spent truckin’ on the road, serving his friends and neighbors.  Gary loved the outdoors, hunting, shooting, spending time with his friends downtown, and making his grandchildren laugh.  Gary coached his boys in Jaycees baseball in Frazeysburg, and offered tips and encouragement when he wasn’t coaching. Gary loved watching all Ohio sports teams, especially the Cincinnati Reds. He attended Frazeysburg United Methodist Church.

Surviving are four proud sons, R. Gary White, Jr. and his wife Theresa of Frazeysburg, Gregory White of Pataskala, Ohio, Christopher White and his wife Laura of Granville, and Collin White of New Concord, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Blair Senter, Jade McEvoy, Caden White, Olivia Davis, Grace White, Christopher White II, Owen White, Ava White, Lucy White; and four great grandchildren, Stella Senter, Riley McEvoy, Jaxson McEvoy, and Jolene McEvoy.  Also surviving is his very dear friend, Linda Moore of Frazeysburg, and sister in-law Bonnie White of Wilkesville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Sharon Rosalie (McWilliams) White, whom he married April 6, 1965 and who died July 16, 2015, and a brother, Ralph White.

Friends may call from 11am to 1pm Monday, December 6, 2021 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Monday, following calling hours, with Pastor John Kay officiating.  Gary will be laid to rest next to his wife, Sharon, in Frazeysburg Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Hershel “Woody” Williams Medal of Honor Foundation to honor, recognize, and serve Gold Star Families and the legacy of their loved ones who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.
