Rocky Brownfield

Rocky J. Brownfield, 63, of Nashport, died Monday, August 12, 2024, at Genesis Hospital – Emergency Room, Zanesville, Ohio.
Born January 23, 1961, in Zanesville, Ohio to Julia (VanHorn) Revennaugh and the late Kenneth Brownfield. He was a 1979 graduate of Philo High School and retired after 35 years as the Postmaster from the Dresden United States Postal Service. Rocky was a member of the Sons of American Legion Post #399 and the Zanesville Fraternal Order of Eagles #302. When he wasn’t serving the people of Dresden you could find him playing pickleball and golfing. Rocky was active in several golf leagues, and you could find him participating in an outing every weekend. He was known for his sense of humor, joking and harassing his family, friends and coworkers. In the past six years his biggest accomplishment was earning the title of “Bad PawPaw” from his five grandchildren, whom he adored.
Surviving is his wife of 39 years, Kimberly K. (Parsons) Brownfield, whom he married October 20, 1984; a daughter, Melissa (Sam) Coffin; a son, Aaron (Tori) Brownfield; his mother, Julia Revennaugh; five grandchildren, Issac, Landon, Cohen, Zoë and Ezra; three brothers, Doug Brownfield, Bruce Brownfield and Jim (Kelli) Brownfield; mother-in-law, Kay Parsons; two sister-in-law, Kelly (Randy) Wycinski and Karen (Bryan) Krieg; an aunt, Martha Wisecarver; an uncle, Paul VanHorn; ten nieces and nephews, Dayne, Sidney, Mitchell, Jared, Chase, Ashley, Zach, Rachel, Lauren, and Sara.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by an aunt, Ester, and a niece Meghan Lewis.
Family and Friends may visit from 2:00pm-7:00pm, Thursday, August 15, 2024, at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street, Dresden.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, August 16, 2024, at the Dresden United Methodist Church, 1014 Main Street, Dresden Ohio with Minister Sam Dunn Officiating.
Rocky will be laid to rest at Dresden Cemetery, Dresden, Ohio.
