Rodney Wilson

Rodney J. Wilson, 77, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away on March 1, 2026. Rodney was born in Lancaster, OH to the late Torrence L. Wilson and Valeria Snyder Wilson.
Rodney grew up in New Lexington along with his brothers, Gregory Wilson (deceased) and Bryan Wilson of New Lexington.
Rodney was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach, FL.

Rodney is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Emilie Pauline Wilson, and was a proud father of three children, Amy E. Heuer (Christoph), Rodney T.J. Wilson (Joy), and Lee Wilson. He was a loving grandfather to his three grandsons, Wilhelm Heuer, Emmerich Heuer, and Rodney T.J. Wilson, Jr. (RJ), to whom he taught the love of fishing.

Rodney is also survived by his brother, Bryan Wilson (Suzy) of New Lexington, and his niece, Haley Davis.

Rodney was a proud member of the National Guard. He worked in Florida for over 40 years for Southern Bell, BellSouth, and AT&T before retiring to enjoy boating and fishing with his children and grandchildren. Rodney enjoyed living near the beach and sitting on his front porch, having a beer and talking with the neighbors.

Rodney always loved his home town of “New Lex” and never forgot his Ohio roots.

There with be a funeral Mass at St. Rose Catholic Church, 309 North Main Street, New Lexington, Ohio on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a private family burial at West Rushville Cemetery, Rushville, OH.
