Roger A. Adair, age 76 of Cambridge, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026 at Ohio Health Southeastern Medical Center. He was born on September 13, 1949 in Columbus, a son of the late Arthur R. Adair and Helen Marie (Monosky) Adair.
Mr. Adair had attended St. Benedict’s Elementary School and Graduated from Cambridge High School in 1968. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. Roger worked at GTE for over 35 years. He had Adair Telephone Company and installed many area telephone systems. He was a Lifetime Member of the Cambridge V.F.W. 2901 and Catholic by faith. He was a railroad enthusiast. He enjoyed collecting model trains and prototype railroad memorabilia. He was a Guernsey County history buff and founding member of the Guernsey Valley Model Railroad Club in Cambridge. He loved riding Amtrak trains with his siblings. Roger was fond of the outdoors and “the out west” and had a liking for Montana.
Roger is preceded in death by: his parents Arthur and Helen Adair and a granddaughter Sophia Rain Adair.
Surviving are: a son Cole (Jennifer) Adair of Marietta; daughter Courtney Sue Sullivan of Yarmouth, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Jackson, Ranger and Poppy Adair and Stella and Landon Sullivan; his siblings, Christine (Michael) Welsh of New Philadelphia, Jeannie (John) Macy of Newark, David (Ellen) Adair of Cambridge, Dan (Donna) Adair of Gahanna, and Tom (Dianna) Adair of St. Louisville; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Christ Our Light Parish on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 11 am with a celebration to follow at the Cambridge V.F.W. Post 2901 at 1 pm. with Military Honors performed by the Guernsey County Veterans Council. Memorial donations may be made to a local animal shelter.
