Roger D. Anderson,82, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2024, at his residence in his hometown of New Lexington, Ohio. He was born on May 30, 1942, to the late William C. and Evelyn (Deaver) Anderson. Roger’s journey began in New Lexington, where he was raised alongside his siblings, Greg, Kent, and Lela, as well as his late brothers William, Robert, and Gary. His formative years were filled with the warmth of a close-knit family, a bond that he would cherish and carry forward into his own family life. A proud father to his son, Keith Anderson, Roger’s legacy continued to flourish through his grandchildren, Katherine and Joseph, and his great-grandchildren, Andrew, Madison, Tempe, Charlie, Nova, Hazel, and Makila. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he instilled in them the values of compassion and integrity that he so exemplified. Roger’s commitment to his country was evident through his service in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. His patriotism and sense of duty were unwavering, traits that he carried with him throughout his life. After his military service, Roger dedicated many years as a skilled electrician at Star Engineering, where his work ethic and expertise were greatly valued. Beyond his professional life, Roger was an active member of his community. He was a familiar face at the New Lexington VFW, Junction City Legion, New Lexington Eagles, and Elks Clubs. His involvement with the Shawnee Lodge F&AM #526 was a reflection of his dedication to fellowship and service Roger’s interests and hobbies were as diverse as his affiliations. He found joy in the camaraderie and shared values of these organizations, which provided him with a sense of purpose and belonging. He was welcomed into Heaven by his beloved wife, Ethel (Dupler) Anderson, along with his parents and grandparents. A dignified cremation will take place under the direction of Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville. Roger will be laid to rest next to his wife, Ethel, in Rehobeth Cemetery.
