Roger Dusenberry

Roger D. Dusenberry, 79, of Crooksville, died in the afternoon hours of Sunday, April 19, 2026 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House following a long hard-fought battle with diabetes and kidney failure.

He was born November 20, 1946, one of six children to the late, Clarence and Mae (Holmes) Dusenberry.

Following his graduation from high school, he enlisted in the Ohio National Guard. Roger then devoted more than three decades of his career to Rockwell International. Upon retiring from this significant chapter of his life, he embarked on a new journey by establishing his own landscaping business which he ran for the next 24 years. Roger’s passion for his work was evident in every lawn he tended across Crooksville, where he gained a reputation for mowing yards to perfection. He was a familiar and welcome sight around town, often seen driving his El Camino with his landscaping trailer in tow. Roger was a man defined by his work ethic–something that truly set him apart and served as an example for all who knew him. He believed in doing things the right way, putting in the effort, and never leaving a job unfinished. He took pride in how he carried himself and enjoyed dressing well, always presenting himself with care. He also found peace and happiness in the outdoors, appreciating the simple beauty of nature and the quiet moments it brought. More than anything, he cherished time with his family, He loved visiting his children and grandchildren, and nothing brought him more joy than holding the little ones on his lap, creating moments that will be remembered forever. Roger believed deeply in fixing what was broken–whether it was something around the house or simply helping someone in need. He had a natural ability to make things right again, and he carried that mindset through every part of his life. He will be remembered for his strength, his values and the love he gave so freely to his family.

Roger is survived in life by his children, Marnie (Kirk) Williams and Brian Dusenberry Sr., his siblings, Regina (Lonnie) Schooley, Rhonda (Roger) Ross, Kathy Eveland, Ron Dusenberry and Rick (Patricia) Dusenberry; his grandchildren, Chief Brandon Williams, U.S.N., Brody Williams, Brian (Breaunna) Dusenberry, Jr. and Brittany Dusenberry as well as his great-grandchildren, Beckett Williams, Elsa Dusenberry and Sofia Dusenberry.
