Rolley Charles “Bud” Angles left earth to begin a new journey in anticipation of meeting up with Jesus at 7:30am Wednesday November 6th, 2024, under Genisis Hospice care at Adams Lane Care Center, from metastasized Esophageal Cancer. He had been blessed by God, with a much longer life on earth with his family, than he ever thought possible after a failed cardiac ablation in which his heart was ruptured in 2010.

Born October 29, 1947, in Zanesville, Muskingum County, he was the youngest son of the late Carroll Gale Angles (1907-1953), born in Vinton, Gallia County and the late Ruth Isabelle Anderson Evans Angles (1912-2000) born in Byesville, Guernsey County, OH, Bud attended Zanesville City Schools, & spent all of his life in Muskingum County.

Bud was married to Debra J Fluharty Angles, daughter of Eloise G. Whyde Fluharty of Zanesville & the late Warren Fredrick Fluharty Sr., on June 17, 1972, at the Valley Assembly of God Church in Gaysport, Muskingum County, OH where they were both members. He was the father of two children: Lucretia Hope (Robbie) Frame and Nicholas R. (Jessica DeBolt) Angles all of Blue Rock, and grandfather to four Granddaughters who were his pride and joy, Annaca Faith Frame, Addalyn Grace Frame, Hayley Marie Angles, and Elizabeth Rose Angles.

He enlisted & served his Country as an Army Combat Engineer with the 23rd Engineer Battalion, Company C, 3rd Armor Division during the Vietnam Conflict he entered January 21, 1967, and was stationed in Germany until December 23, 1968, and was Honorably Discharged from the United States Army on the January 15, 1973.

Bud was employed at Burnham Boiler from 1974-1981, followed by the Roekel Company from 1982-2002, and then the Colony Square Mall where he was in maintenance from 2002-2011.

He was a volunteer member of Scouting America for several years during his son’s rise thru the ranks to Eagle Scout. He served as a parent volunteer with Zanesville Pack 145 and Assistant Scoutmaster with Zanesville Troop 128. He loved helping the Scouts learn outdoor survival skills on camping trips in and out of the State. He had also attained his Brotherhood honor in the National Honor Society of Scouting America known as the Order of the Arrow before retiring due to unexpected health issue in 2010. In 2003, he and his wife were honored with the Volunteer Scouters of the Year Award by the Muskingum Valley Council. In 2025 he was looking forward to seeing his Granddaughter Annaca be the first female in the family to obtain the Rank of Eagle in Scouting America.

In addition to his wife, children and grandchildren he is survived by one sibling, Stella McInerney of Zanesville, “adopted” sister Dianna Dawley of Galena, Sisters in law Sue Lyon of Lima, and Alene Angles of Zanesville, Brothers in law Robert Heslop of White Cottage, and Neil Wilson of Zanesville. His Mother-in-law Eloise Fluharty of Zanesville, Brothers in law, Fred (Cordia) Fluharty of Wooster, David (Debbie) Fluharty of Kentucky, & Chuck (Carla) Fluharty of Philo, along with a gazillion wonderful nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Carol Ann Romine-Robert (1939-2000) of Virgina, Gladys Marie Chambers-Williams (1942-1982) of Texas, Donna R. Farmer (1927-2003) and William E. Angles (1931-2017) both of Zanesville, Louie Lyon (1935-2010) of Lima, & Carroll G. Angles, Jr. (1928-1930) of Wellston, Edna M. Evans McClain (1931-2022) of Texas, Mary J. Webb (1933-2020) of Mt. Gilead, Ruth A. Heslop (1937-2021) of White Cottage, Margaret Wilson (1935-2022) of Zanesville, Father-in-law Warren “Fred” Fluharty Sr. (1924-2005), and Sister-in-law Nancy Dennis (1954-2024), and by his beloved 16-year-old Golden Retriever fur baby Akia (2002-2018).

You may pay your respects to the family on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, for a graveside service at 12:30 p.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery where military services will be honored. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
