Rolling Plains Hosts Health Fair
A local church opens its doors to give healthcare information to the public…
Rolling Plains United Methodist Church held a Senior-Focused Health Fair Wednesday afternoon. Director of Congregational Care Pat Wiseman-Jones said area businesses came with information on a variety of topics.
"Healthcare needs, there will be senior housing, if you can no longer stay in your home, or there’s people here who can help you stay in your home, by coming in, doing light housework, going and doing your grocery shopping, taking you to your doctor’s appointment," said Wiseman-Jones.
Rolling Plains has some projects planned for the future as well. Wiseman-Jones said they will be holding health screenings for area seniors.
"I became aware that there is nothing like this on the south end. And so again, it’s just not for our congregation it’s for the people of the south end to be able to have some place to come that’s affordable or free."
The screenings will begin to take place at Rolling Plains in April.
