Ron Bucci Recognized at the Carr Center Cake Auction

Also this morning at the Carr Center Cake Auction, one special person was recognized for their years of service to the community.

Ron Bucci has been an active volunteer auctioneer for the Carr Center Cake Auction for the past 30 years and now he ‘s being awarded for all of his hard work and dedication. Bucci said this acknowledgment came as a surprise.

“I did not I was totally surprised I really was. You don’t do these things for recognition, you do these things because it’s in your heart that you believe in what you are doing so that you can give a little heart back to the community and the Carr Center. That’s what we’ve done for 30 years, my wife and I together have been involved in it and we just can’t help ourselves, we also help somebody else,” said Bucci.

Bucci said 30 years later he still remembers his very first-day volunteering at the Carr Center Cake Auction.

“I do remember, I was at center stage and I remember calling Dee Martin and saying Dee I think their doing it wrong I think they need to start mentioning more names there’s several things that we need to do. She said will you come out and help us and I said I ‘ll be out for one hour and I ‘ll show you what I think you need to do and then I ‘m going to leave. That one hour turned into 30 years,” said Bucci.

Bucci said he owes all of his success to his partnership and teamwork he has with his wife.
