Ronald D. Smith, 73, of Dresden Road, Zanesville passed away at 5:45 am on Tuesday November 22, 2011, at the Muskingum County Home, Zanesville.

Ronald was born October 5, 1937 in Zanesville the son of the late Raymond and Nellie (Brosie) Smith. Ronald began work at Big Bear Grocery in 1953 and worked as a meat cutter for 43 years retiring in 1996. He served his county in the U.S. Air Force.

Ronald is survived by his wife Janie Brennan Smith whom he married May 10, 1993; his daughter Kathy (Gary) Williams of Smithville, Tn; three sons Rick Smith of Atlanta, Ga., Danny (Sherry) Smith of Zanesville and Mike (Janie) Smith of Peebles, OH; his step-daughter Valerie Barry of Zanesville and step-son Stephen Scott (Keanna) Rucker of Zanesville; seven grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, two great–grandchildren and a brother Harold Smith of Zanesville.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a Sister Flossie Toole and a Grandson Little Gray Williams.

Friends may call 11 to 1 Friday, November 25, 2011 at the Thompson Farus Funeral in Duncan Falls where the funeral will be at 1 pm. Burial will be in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
