Ronald Hiles

Ronald Allen Hiles, 80 of Zanesville, passed away on March 6, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones at Genesis Hospital.

He was born on June 13, 1944, in Lancaster, Ohio, son of the late William F. Hiles and Ruth (Sheets) Hiles. Ron was a veteran of the Navy, serving his country proudly. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Zanesville and worked at Owens/Brockway Glass for over 30 plus years, where he retired. Ron loved spending time with his friends and family. He was an avid pool player, enjoyed dirt track races, and loved fishing, especially at Seneca Lake.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary (McCutcheon) Hiles; daughter, Heidi Hiles; 5 grandchildren, Jenna (Trey) Norris, Jaelyn Anderson, Ryan Cochran, Mercedes (Cory) Runkle, Travis (Kathy Gross), Cameron (Morgan) Kuhn; 2 adopted grandchildren, Latrina Robinette, Willard McBride; several great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Bernard “Ben” Hiles, Pat Hiles; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 3 brothers: William “Bill” Hiles, Michael Hiles, Jeff Hiles; 2 sisters: Pearl Ann Brennan, Mary Nesbitt; 2 sister-in-laws: Patty Hiles, Juanita Hiles; and 3 nephews: Jeff Rodgers, Jack Towning, Bill Towning.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday March 12, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will be held at 2:00 PM with Pastor Chris Steele officiating. A dignified cremation will take place following services.
