Ronald Moran
Ronald Franklin Moran, 87, of Zanesville, died Friday morning, December 13, 2024, at The Oaks at Bethesda, Zanesville.
Born April 12, 1937, in Fallsburg Township, Licking County, Ohio, he was a son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Alverta Mae (Cannon) Moran. Ronald was a member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church and owner of Muskingum County Speedway, Inc, a local racetrack right outside of Dresden. He was a self-employed Oil Well Driller and farmer. Ronald enjoyed going to his grandchildren’s events, and cheering on the Cavs, Buckeyes, and Yankees. He appreciated a good game of Euchre and going to the Casinos.
Ronald is survived by his three children, Brenda L. Moran and Rhonda (David) Garber, both of Frazeysburg and Donnie (Brenda) Moran of Dresden; eight grandchildren, Leigha Moran, Monica (Matt) Ehrhardt, Grant (Bre Hines) Garber, Brodie (Ashley) Moran, Devin (Lakia) Moran, Tristin (Abby) Moran, Wylie (Jordan) Moran and Savanna Moran; five great grandchildren, Ella, Addison, Miles, Everly, and Hayes; a sister, Rose Jean (Larry) Harris; a brother, Steve Moran; a sister-in-law, Kathy Moran; four brother’s in-law, Richard (Wilma) Kirkpatrick, Ronald (Joyce) Kirkpatrick, Robert Kirkpatrick and Ralph (Peggy Hughes) Kirkpatrick, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis E. Moran, who died November 4, 2024; two brothers, James R. and Daniel W. Moran.
The family would like to thank the loving and caring staff of Genesis Hospice and The Oaks at Bethesda who took such amazing care of Ronald.
Friends and family may call 4pm to 7pm Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Meadow View Church of Christ, 6750 Raiders Road, Frazeysburg, Ohio 43822.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at the church with Minister Sam Dunn officiating.
Ronald will be laid to rest in Perryton Cemetery.
