Ronald “Ron” J. Henderson

Ron H. Pic

Ronald “Ron” Jess Henderson, 79 of Zanesville passed away at 12:47 A.M.  Friday, December 9, 2022, at the Genesis Hospital ER following a short illness. He was born June 18, 1943, in McDowell, WV, the son of William Henderson and Esther Paugh Henderson.

Ron was a proud Naval Veteran that served on the USS Lake Champlain. Those who knew him understood what this country meant to him. His love for this country was great, but nothing compared to his love for his family. His unbelievable work ethic was well known and something his peers and family admired. He worked well into his 70s. The man could fix or build anything, and we mean anything

His passion in life was simply to “make everything better”, a living example for everyone that came into contact with him. He had an amazing smile and laugh that you fell in love with the moment you met him. He was a kind and passionate man and would say, “All I want is a kind word and a cold beer”.

He is survived by his soul mate and partner for 62 years, wife, Margaret Scott Flint Henderson, his son Ron (Krissy) Henderson Jr; Daughters Tawna (Chris) Lyons and Toots (John) Howe; his grandchildren Ashley (Brian) Barritt, Beau (Val) Henderson, Doop Daniels and Devonee Daniels (Jonathon). Great grandchildren Sammy, Ellie and James Barritt; Lennox Mallory and soon to be born Matthew Henderson; a brother, William Henderson; sisters Snookie Young; Debbie (Lisa) Henderson; brother-in-law Dick Heimberger; many nieces and nephews; a special friend/son Jim Witte and special neighbors Pam and Hawk Maxwell.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; sister Lillie Heimberger; brother-in-law Bob Young.

A dignified cremation will take place and no services will be held. A celebration of life service will be held later.

The family has two requests that they know Ron would enjoy if he were physically here among us: Hug your children and the dearest to you, and to never stop thanking the veterans you come in contact with for their selfless service.

The Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Ave. Zanesville is in charge of the arrangements. To share memories and condolences with Ron’s family please visit www.BryanHardwickFH.com.
