Ronna Bucci & Dr. Charles Dietz Honor Local Artists

Local artists have the opportunity to be recognized and honored for their craft.

The Muskingum County Community Foundation is currently accepting applications for the Ronna Bucci and Dr. Charles Dietz Art Endowment Fund 2015 Artist’s Award. Each year the fund awards a $500 grant to a working artist in the area, to help further their career.

"The monies that are actually awarded to the artist that win can use those for supplies, they can use those towards going to some sort of educational opportunity, it really is an opportunity for the working artist to kind of get a little extra help," said Muskingum County Community Foundation CEO, Brian Wagner.

Artists who live in Muskingum County, or are members of the Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project are eligible to apply. All applications must be submitted to the foundation by 5 p.m. on October 2.

"There’s a paper application that they can pick up down here at the Muskingum County Community Foundation, there also needs to be some supporting samples of their artwork that can be submitted to us online as well, so we can what sort of medium they work in, whether they’re doing paintings, or whether they’re doing sculptures, or ceramics," Wagner said.

The award ceremony will be held at the Yan Sun Gallery on Main Street at 7 p.m. on November 6.
