Ronnie A. Berger, 59, of Cambridge, passed away Friday (August 14, 2026) as the result of a car accident.

He was born August 23, 1966 in Cambridge, son of Roger (Cindy) Berger and the late Connie (Oiler) Roberts. He was also the stepson of the late Dave Roberts.

After attending Cambridge High School, Ronnie worked as a heavy equipment operator out of Local #37. He always said that the guys he worked with on the pipeline were his second family. He had so many friends whom he truly loved, and he was loved by everyone who knew him.

In addition to his mother and stepfather, he is preceded in death by his aunt, Lottie Oiler.

Ronnie is survived by his father and stepmother, Roger and Cindy Berger of Salesville; his wife, Jamie Swegard, and her children: Abby, Zoey, and Josey; his brother, Roger (Melody) Berger; four nephews: Troy, Matthew, Tyler, and Kiel Berger; his aunt with whom he was very close, Shirley Ross; three uncles: Larry (Gail) Oiler, Bill (Sue) Oiler, and Jim (Chris) Ross; several cousins, including a special cousin with whom he was very close, Angela Douglas.

Special friends who meant the world to him include: Jim (Stacey) Ankrom, Jeremy (Misty) Dawson, Erick (Carma) Aberts, and Mike (Jan) Burt; along with many more friends who were more like family. Please know that Ronnie loved every one of you. He will be loved and missed by everyone who knew him.

Visitation will be held Tuesday (August 18, 2026) from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Stop Nine Church of Christ, Byesville, where funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. with Evan. Mark Beros officiating. Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, is handling arrangements.
