Roy L. Vernon (November 1, 1930 – November 10, 2011)

Roy L Vernon, 81 of Zanesville died 2:50 AM Thursday, November 10, 2011 at the Helen Purcell Home .He was born Saturday, November 01, 1930 in Adamsville the son of Harold M Vernon and Constance (Bell) Vernon. He was married to Janet M ( Jackson ) Vernon who died March 27, 2002.
Roy was a member of the Putnam Presbyterian Church . He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict . He retired in 1990 from the General Electric Corporation following 34 years of service.

Roy is survived by a daughter: Amy (Bob) Farrar of Zanesville; a son: Ellis E. (Judy) Vernon of Zanesville; 5 Grandchildren; a brother: Lawrence Vernon of Coshocton; He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; 2 brothers, Bryce Vernon and Ralph Vernon;

Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2011 at the Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue. Memorial contributions may be made to the Helen Purcell Home.

Funeral Service will be held 9:00 AM on Saturday, November 12 at the Hllis & Hardwick Funeral Home 935 Forest Avenue with Pastor Herb Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
