Run Muskingum Audiobook Club
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Everyone can benefit from a little extra physical activity.
And Muskingum County Library System Emerging Technologies Assistant Kylie Bell explains how audiobooks can be used to allow individuals to multitask some mental activity during their exercise routine.
“We are hosting something called the Run Muskingum Audiobook Club,” Bell said. “It will be a monthly club where people are given the opportunity to listen to an audiobook through Hoopla, usually about running. And then once a month, come in and we will run somewhere in Muskingum. This week it will be downtown Zanesville and after the run we will talk about the book.”
The Run Muskingum Audiobook Club event is open to anyone of any age who can walk and run. They will have a two mile course designated for walkers and a three mile course available for runners.
“So this month we are actually reading a book called ‘Eat and Run’ by Scott Jurek,” Bell said. “Scott Jurek is a famous ultra-marathoner and he has won titles and he has held trophies all across the U.S. And the most interesting thing is; he does that while being a vegan. So in Eat and Run, we’re learning about his story, while he gives us some fun, vegan recipes.”
The event will take place 8 a.m. Saturday, April 12th, at the John McIntire Library, located at Sixth and Shinnick Streets in Zanesville. You can learn more and register by visiting the library’s website.
