Russell Lee Longwell (September 19, 1933 – May 12, 2013)

Russell Lee Longwell, 79, of Blue Rock, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at his residence. He was born on September 19, 1933, in Ritchie County, West Virginia, a son of the late Floyd and Virgie Cornell Longwell. He retired as a mechanic for Irish Ridge Coal. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved gardening.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Yoder Longwell of the home; a son, Russell Kevin Longwell of the home; four daughters, Kathy (Dave) Mohler of Zanesville, Pam Phillips of Newark, OH, Mary Ann (Allan) Phillips of Rose Farm, and Lisa Davis of Roseville; fourteen grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; and two brothers, Paul (Cecile) Pletcher of Hanover, OH and Keith (Susie) Pletcher of Newark, OH.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Debi Bates; a brother, Robert Roscoe Longwell; and his step father, Harvey Pletcher.

Friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 33 NORTH MAIN STREET, ROSEVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Al Laese officiating. Russell will be laid to rest in Stovertown Lutheran Cemetery.
