Ruth Naomi Arnold (April 9, 1913 – January 11, 2011)

RUTH NAOMI ARNOLD, 97, of Springfield and formerly of Zanesville, passed away peacefully, Tuesday evening, January 11, 2011 in Eaglewood Village Care Center. She was born in Zanesville on April 9, 1913 the daughter of the late Lon and Dora (Wilson) Slonaker. Naomi was enthusiastic and passionate in her love for her Lord Jesus. She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church, Zanesville, where she played piano for worship services and had been for many years, a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school and played the piano. She had been employed at the Schurtz Drug Store for several years as well as the Schubaugh and Moeller Music stores. Naomi gave piano and organ lessons to many students. She is survived by her son, David (Patty) Arnold of Springfield; three grandchildren and spouses, Steve (Malinda) Arnold of Los Angeles, and Sandy Ehrman and Scott (Oakley) Arnold of Springfield; five great grandchildren, Sam and Mitch Arnold, Daniel and Spencer Ehrman, all of Springfield, and Miles Arnold of Los Angeles; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Ray and Patty Galla of Zanesville. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Albert E. Arnold and a brother, Guy Slonaker. Naomi’s funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the BRYAN & SNIDER FUNERAL HOME, 2318 Maple Ave Zanesville ( www.BryanSniderFuneralHome.com ) with Pastor Glenn Smith officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
