Ruth Starner
Ruth Starner, 90, of Crooksville, passed away on April 7, 2026. She was born on August 28, 1935, in Moxahala to George Reed and Ocie McKinney.
Ruth retired from Frames, where she served as Head Cook for many years. She took great pride in her work and in sharing her love of cooking with others.
She was deeply devoted to her family and cherished every moment spent with them. Ruth especially enjoyed gathering for Sunday family dinners, creating lasting memories around the table. She loved cheering on her sons and then grandchildren at their sporting events and was one of their biggest supporters.
In her free time, Ruth found joy in tending to her yard and garden, as well as playing bingo with friends. She appreciated life’s simple pleasures and the time spent with those she loved most.
Ruth is survived by her son, Bruce (Sheri) Starner; daughters-in-law, Karen Hill and Brenda Starner; grandchildren, Michelle (Jim) Davis, Eric (Connie) Starner, Amber (Brent) Butcher, Nathan (Dianne) Starner, Trisha Starner, Matthew (Lynette) Starner, Dana (Cheryl) Dodson, Danielle (Ronnie) Bragg, Cody (Jamie) Horn, and Dillon Horn; great-grandchildren, Brandon Davis, Noah and Olivia Butcher, Gwendolyn and Magdalena Starner, Remi Starner and Bailey Horn; great-great-grandchild, Braxton Butcher; special friend, Patsy Crawford; her beloved furry companion, Bandit; sisters, Rita Deavers and Kathy (Bruce) Gall; and brother, George Reed.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Fred Starner; sons, David Starner and Jim Starner; her parents, George Reed and Ocie McKinney; her mother- and father-in-law, Francis and Lucille Starner; and sisters, Pauline Ratliff and Patricia Webb.
Ruth will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to family, and the warmth she brought to everyone around her.
Calling hours will be held from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at the funeral home with Revered Richard Newlon officiating.
Burial will follow at the New Lexington Cemetery, New Lexington, Ohio.
Dinner will follow after the funeral at The Ludowici Factory of Ideas, 4757 Tile Plant Road, New Lexington, Ohio 43764.
