ZANESVILLE, Ohio- A well-known business man is being recognized for his outstanding service to Muskingum County.

The Muskingum County Community Foundation (MCCF) honors members of the community who spend their time volunteering with the Brian T. Wagner Community Leadership Award. This award was founded in 2005 and goes to volunteers between 18 and 55 who have shown commitment to helping others.

“The Community Leadership Award was established to honor young individuals such as Ryan, who at an early age has already shown a desire to contribute to our community; and it has already begun to work to help better Muskingum County,” said MCCF CEO, Brian Wagner. “As they’ve begun their careers or they’re starting their families, they still find time to give out. And that’s the idea behind this award.”

This year the award is going to Ryan A. Moyer. Moyer serves on multiple boards throughout the community and gives his time to various organizations. He will be presented with the Brian T. Wagner Community Leadership Award at the MCCF annual Groundhog Day Celebration. Moyer said it’s an honor to be recognized for his work and that serving in the community has positively impacted his life.

“I think it’s more about how the organizations have enriched my life opposed to what I could ever give back. It’s a lot of fun. It’s a lot of work, but it’s far more rewarding than I ever imagined. Just being able to make a little difference whether it’s big or small with all the different entities, you know, I’ve had the opportunity to touch and leave my mark on.”

The Groundhog Day Celebration will take place on January 26th at the OUZ Zane State College Campus Center.
