Sally Downey

Sally Marie Downey, 86, of Zanesville, died at 8:05 P.M. on Sunday, October 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born June 26, 1939, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Annabelle Mary (Kinnison) Spinks. Sally found joy in shopping, going to flea markets and garages sales, getting apples from farmers markets, and most of all spending time with her grandkids.

She is survived by her husband Dana Eugene Downey; children, Debbie (Steve) Hanes, Ron (Amada) Downey, and Gary (Darla) Downey; five grandchildren, Jessica (Joshua) Newton, Eric Hanes, Amanda (Michael) Eafrati, Lauren, and Landon; seven great grandchildren, Kylie, Zaydin (aka “Little Man”), Addi, Lilly Dominic, Luca, and Collin; several nieces and nephews; siblings, Georgie (Terry Gibson), Robert Lee Spinks, Connie Eddington, and Eileen Fabian.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Ingles, and Judy K. Detter.

Friends and family may call from 11:00 A.M. until time of services starting at 1:00 P.M. on Friday October 24, 2025, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE ZANESVILLE with Pastor Chris Steele officiating.  Sally will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery, Zanesville.
