Sally Natalie Schumacher, 81, of Zanesville died on December 2, 2025, at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio.

She was born, September 23, 1944, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of the late David S. Hamilton and Natalie Lambert Hamilton Schmick.

Sally was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon and an elder, and was a volunteer for the Salvation Army. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati and spent her lifetime career as a special education teacher in the Zanesville City School district.

Above all, Sally was known for her love of family. She is survived by two children, Dr. Christopher (Neysa) A. Gaskins and Dr. Brady (Heather) P. Gaskins; five grandchildren, Devyn, Weston, Nathan, Zachary, Nicholas.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mary Ruth Basler, her first husband Bruce E. Gaskins and her second husband James Schumacher.

Friends may call 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 22, 2025, at the Trinity United Presbyterian Church. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Dr. Geoff Geyer officiating. A luncheon will be provided following the service. Burial will be at 2:30 P.M. at Zanesville Memorial Park.
