Salvation Army Coats for Kids

If you’re looking for a way to help within the community, The Salvation Army is looking for children’s coat donations.

Coats for Kids will be held on October 16 and 17 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. If you’re in need of picking up a coat, all you need to bring is an I.D. and a social security card for everyone in your household. Employee in charge, George Bates explained how donations of every kind can help.

"I don’t think people realize all the things we do with that money, I mean we have the Christmas coat give away which is really big. Last year we did 721 kids."

The salvation army is also accepting Christmas applications for families in need of help this holiday season. The Salvation Army’s office coordinator Mind McCloy explained what the Christmas application can do for families.

"People can come in and fill out applications for toys for children newborn to twelve years old, and then also for Christmas food baskets. And you can sign up for food baskets even if you don’t have children in your home."

If you’re interested in a Christmas application, the salvation army asks that you bring an I.D., social security cards for everyone in your household, all of your monthly bills and a proof of income.
