Salvation Army Providing Assistance this Christmas

Each year, families turn to the Salvation Army in Zanesville for assistance during the holidays.

The Salvation Army will soon be accepting Christmas applications for those in our community who may need a little help this season.

Muskingum County families with children 12 years of age and younger can apply to receive toys and a food basket. If you are a single person household or your family does not have young children, you can still receive a food basket. Program Director, Dustin Redmond, said its a time when the community comes together to give back.

“Christmas is the season for giving, the reason for giving, and at the Salvation Army we like to look at the community as one big family, we strive with unity and we want everybody to know they’re welcome to be apart of our family here,” Redmond said.

In order to receive assistance, families must sign up at the Salvation Army, October 19-23. Hours are Monday through Wednesday 10 a.m. until 3 p.m, Thursday 10 a.m. until 7 p.m, and Friday 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. To apply, bring your photo ID, Social Security Number for everyone in your household, proof of monthly income, and your monthly bills.
